The Challenge:

PILOT needed a clear and engaging pitch video for time-poor martial arts gym owners. The platform was early stage, with limited real product to show, so the video had to communicate the value proposition and how it fits into daily gym life. It also needed to feel polished and credible for investor conversations.

The Approach:

The piece used a bold, illustrated style with character-led storytelling. Coastline Creative supplied the script direction, storyboards, and Illustrator artwork, and the animation build was created in After Effects with bouncy motion that stayed fun without feeling childish.

Pacing was timed tightly to the voiceover beats, balancing character moments with abstract UI cues to hint at the software without over-promising a finished product. Close collaboration with the illustrator ensured character rigs and elements were separated and prepared correctly for animation. Sound and final assembly were handled in Premiere, with reviews managed through Frame.io.

The Results:

The project delivered a clean, distinctive pitch asset that stood out from more generic SaaS launch videos. While formal performance metrics were not available, the product has since been built and launched, and the video remains a strong example of concept-led storytelling for early-stage platforms.
